I have been there and I know that to buy fake high quality brands Beijing is a good place but higher price than Shenzhen, close to Hong Kong. I think that American criticism/other critics of their policies is not working and has only inflamed them. However, my idea to fix this is by working with the Chinese cooperatively on trying to make some pollution agreements/agreements on how much emissions everyone should have. Its difficult but I prefer dialogue rather than criticism. Also, if they pass that, (sign the agreement and start working on it) then both countries should work on getting more alternate energy. If you're the one going to China, yes, I read lots of books/traveling books, etc before my trip to China (but I'm not a woman, as you can see by the pic) but my point is that all those books say it is safe for women, western woman in particular, to travel in China.Obviously like any other traveler, you have to be careful, be informed, be aware about your surroundings, use common sense.
